Owner Mark Cooper at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival 2007

Cooper’s Vintage Drums has been providing quality vintage drums to collectors and players since 1998. Owner Mark Cooper has been a professional drummer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for over 30 years......

“I was first bitten by the vintage drum “bug” in 1980. During a visit to a New York recording studio, Roger Earl (drummer for the band Foghat) invited me to play one of his 1930’s Radio King snare drums. I had never seen or heard anything like it before! I became intrigued with the strange “cloud” shaped Slingerland badge, the old fashioned engraving on the hoop and the beautifully aged pearl finish of the old drum. When I heard the unique sound that this drum produced, I was hooked!”

.......Thus began a lifetime obsession with vintage drums. After years of collecting and playing these wonderful old instruments, Mark decided to start up a web site offering vintage drums to drummers all over the world. Cooper’s Vintage Drums is proud to be a part of the world wide vintage drum community.
