1935-36 Slingerland "Broadcaster"

In 1935 Slingerland introduced the Broadcaster model which was the predecessor to the famous Radio King line. Only a handful of these Broadcasters were made and by 1936 the name was no longer used. For more information see the "Slingerland History" section of this web site .
Here we have a nice example of an extremely rare drum. This particular drum has the words "Slingerland Broadcaster" hand engraved in the top hoop. The words "Slingerland Radio King" are also stamped in the rim next to it. This was a transitional period for Slingerland as they discontinued the Broadcaster name in favor of Radio King.
